Canyon River Ranch Syrah Vineyard
The Canyon River Ranch Syrah vineyard, located across from the lodge, is cared for by our Grounds Manager David Padgett. He and his team implement traditional practices in caring for the vineyard ensuring they thrive under the warm Central Washington sun and survive our cold winters.
Fun Facts:
π§ Minimal Irrigation, Deep Rooted Traditions, Sustainable Practices
We irrigate our vineyard only twice a year, each session for 8 hours each watering. Our 18-year-old vines’ roots delve 5β6 feet deep into well-drained soils, allowing them to access water stored deep within, minimizing the need for frequent irrigation. This deep watering strategy encourages our vines to develop robust root systems, enhancing grape quality and concentration. The result? Wines that express the true essence of our unique terroir.
π· Experience the Difference
Most vineyards use machinery for pruning and harvesting. David believes skilled human touch creates the best result harmonizing nature and craftsmanship for optimal grape quality. Experience the dedication and care in every bottle of Canyon River Ranch Syrah featured at our restaurant, The Canyon River Grill. Make your reservations today and taste the difference!
π· Canyon River Ranch Ownership Benefits: Experience the Difference!
With every harvest, our owners here at CRR receive an allotment of the Syrah production. Swing in for a personal tour of the lodge and learn more about our ownership program and wine allocation. Cheers!
Owner Testimonial
“I was concerned when we bought our lot and built a house here if we would use it. I should not have. We are here nearly every week of the year. We come for the fishing, we come for the views that are in constant change, we come for the incredible food offered by Chef Kevin at the grille. We come to get away from the grey skies, we come to float the river, watch wildlife (deer, bighorn sheep, coyotes, turkey, chukkar, eagles, American pelicans, buzzards, geese, wood ducks, mallards, mergansers, etc) and enjoy the peace that we find in the Canyon. Our friends and family ask us when they can join us in the Canyon. We have also found an amazing community of people here with whom we love sharing time together.”
